We take safety very seriously. Every single batch we cook gets lab safety tested for pathogens to help ensure it’s safe for your pet to eat. We have a hold release program where we don’t ever ship our food unless it passes the lab safety test.
- How is Raised Right’s food made?
All our food is lightly cooked in a USDA inspected human-grade facility with ingredients that have passed the standards necessary for human consumption. Our food is lightly cooked to the minimum temperatures required by the USDA to kill pathogens like E.coli, salmonella, & listeria (145 F for beef & pork and 165 F for chicken & turkey). Low temp cooking meets the USDA pathogen kill-step, while maintaining high levels of moisture and nutritional integrity. After each batch is cooked, we conduct lab safety tests for pathogens such as E.coli, salmonella, & listeria to help ensure they’re safe to eat. We have a hold release program where we don’t ever ship our food unless it has passed the lab safety test.
We work alongside world-renowned veterinarian, Dr. Karen Becker and pet food formulation expert Steve Brown to formulate limited ingredient recipes that are low in carbs. Most of our recipes have less than 2% carbs because we don’t use any high-carb fillers like potato, rice, oats, yam, squash, pasta, barley, parsnips, corn, or wheat. All our recipes meet AAFCO’s requirements for a complete & balanced diet specific to the stage of life each pet is in. We have recipes formulated specifically for adult dogs, puppies, and adult cats. We were recently recognized by the Innovative Veterinary Care Journal for the impact our recipes are making in the lives of dogs & cats by being awarded the 2019 Innovation Award for Nutrition.
- How do I store Raised Right?
Each bag should be stored in the freezer until ready to defrost. Each bag will remain fresh in your refrigerator for 6 days after it’s defrosted.
- How do I transition my dog to Raised Right?
Below you’ll find the recommended guidelines for transitioning your dog to Raised Right:
Day 1 – 3: Serve your previous food with 25% of the serving being Raised Right.
Day 4 – 6: Serve your previous food with 50% of the serving being Raised Right.
Day 7 – 9: Serve your previous food with 75% of the serving being Raised Right.
Day 10: Serve 100% Raised Right.
Alternatively, this food can be mixed with an existing diet, as a treat or food topper.
